Community Manager, Brandworkers

Harvir Kaur previously worked with the Brooklyn Movement Center (BMC) as their food sovereignty organizer where she facilitated and worked with members and the community to implement multiple components of BMC’s food sovereignty organizing work. In 2011-2012, Harvir worked as a Bill Emerson Fellow through the Congressional Hunger Center in Jackson, Mississippi, where she analyzed food insecurity issues faced by senior citizens, and in Washington, D.C., where she analyzed the racial wealth gap in the United States. Currently, she is working with Brandworkers as their community manager facilitating durable and thriving partnerships between Brandworkers members and allies to achieve justice and ensure sustainable funding for the mission. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
