Michaela Hayes is the founder of Crock & Jar, a food preservation company with the mission of supporting local farmers, and sister company to Rise & Root Farm. Three of Michaela's great loves are food, art, and science, making food preservation her perfect happy place. She is a Just Food trainer and teaches food preservation at institutions such as Natural Gourmet Institute and for individual CSA groups. She also teaches the six week Community Food Arts course for Farm School NYC. Michaela writes the One For The Season column for Sweet Paul magazine, is a co-organizer of the NYC Ferments Meetup group, and also works as a food stylist. This year she will be managing herb production at Rise & Root Farm.
